George Miller is in his tenth term as California's District Seven Representative. Born in Richmond, California in 1945, he attended San Francisco State and University of California at Davis. Mr. Miller is an attorney, living in Martinez, California. Miller is also a member of the House Education and Labor Committee.

The jurisdiction of the House Natural Resources Committee includes forest reserves and natural parks created from public lands. The Committee oversees mineral land laws and claims, as well as U.S. relations with American Indian tribes. It also looks after military parks, battlefields and national cemeteries, and prehistoric ruins. The Natural Resources Committee helps regulate all nonmilitary use of nuclear energy. It also has jurisdiction over the U.S. Geological Survey. Interstate water issues also fall in the hands of the House Natural Resources Committee.
